20 years ago I qualified as a Speech and Language Pathologist and Audiologist and it is true, time flies when you are having fun! I have worked in private practices, clinics, hospitals and schools in three different countries. Between 2003-2007 I lived and worked in London, UK as a Speech Therapist. Between 2008 – 2010 worked at an American school in Casablanca, Morocco. In between also worked in Cape Town and Johannesburg, South Africa. I am now more settled and married with three energetic boys.
London truly is a melting pot of different cultures, languages and accents! I have worked alongside people from Britain, Morocco, China, South Korea, Bangladesh, Somalia, Kenya, New Zealand, Australia, Canada, and America. My home language is Afrikaans, which is similar to Dutch, but with a different accent.
South Africa is sometimes referred to as the Rainbow Nation, after all we have 11 different official languages. I believe my qualifications, background and experience uniquely qualifies me to assess and modify a persons accent in order for them to be understood and communicate well.
I would love to be able to help you fulfill your personal goals, dreams and ambitions. We live in a global world and good communication is so important when interacting with other people in person, over the phone or the internet. I know how it feels to take the plunge into an unknown culture and language. It can be so scary! But I also know the rewards that you get from plucking up your courage and taking that first step. Contacting me might be your first step into a new and exciting world.
I am able to connect via Skype, Microsoft Teams or Zoom or any other app you prefer and my times are flexible. Contact me for a free initial consultation.
