I am a consultant Speech-language Pathologist & Audiologist I have more than 20 years of professional work experience. I am an ASHA (American Speech-Language-Hearing Association) certified Speech-language Pathologist & Audiologist (CCC-SLP/A). I also have the Louisiana State license to practice speech-language pathology and audiology. I have worked in a variety of settings such as universities, rehab facilities, hospitals/clinics, schools, and institutions. I have lived and worked in three states of USA (Texas, Ohio, and Louisiana) and three countries (USA, India, and England) apart from travels to several other states and countries.
As an Associate Professor at Southeastern Louisiana University and University of Southern Mississippi, I used to develop and run Accent Modification clinics for several years. The clients who sought help were international students and faculty from various countries such as India, China, Russia, Germany, Brazil, Middle Eastern, African, and Latin American counties. I, myself, being an ESL (English as a Second Language) speaker, I fully empathize and understand the needs of ESL speakers for accent modification/reduction.
My approach is holistic to accent modification or reduction. My approach not only deals with working on the pronunciation (articulation), but also on stress & intonation patterns, idioms, proverbs, expressions, slang, and colloquial aspects of American English, which can make a client a more effective communicator. It is client centered approach.
My fee is flexible with a minimum of $60-100 per session. Initial consultation is free. Then I can work out a schedule depending on the needs and affordability of the clients related to the frequency and time length of the services.
